Porter-Sanford-Reid Family Reunion Scholarship Application

Purpose
The purpose of this scholarship is to support family members in pursuing higher education while fostering a sense of community and family values.
 

 Eligibility Criteria

1. Family Affiliation: Applicants must be descendants or legally adopted children of a descendant of the founding family members.

2. Educational Status: Must be enrolled or accepted into an accredited college, university, vocational, or technical school.

3. Age Requirement: Applicants must be under the age of 25 at the time of the award.

4. Previous Awards: Must not have previously received this scholarship.

5. Family Involvement: Must have attended at least one family reunion in the past two years.

6. GPA: 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. or better (based on 4.0 scale)

Application Requirements

1. Personal Statement Essay: Submit a 300-word essay describing your personal goals, how they align with family values, and how attending family reunions has impacted your life.

2. Transcript: Provide an unofficial transcript showing current academic standing.

3. Letter of Recommendation: Include one letter from a school counselor, teacher, or family member.

4. Proof of Enrollment: Attach a letter of acceptance or proof of enrollment from the institution.

5. Recent Photograph: Include a recent photograph for identification purposes.
